In December 2024, people in Germany rated the AfD, a far right political party, at -3 when asked to rate German political parties on a scale of -5 to +5. This was the lowest rating that any party received. The CDU received the highest rating at +0.6.

The parties were rated using a scale from -5 to +5. This question was asked in the survey as follows: "Imagine a thermometer that only goes from plus 5 to minus 5, with a zero point in between. Please use this thermometer to tell me what you think of the individual parties. 'Plus 5' means that you think very highly of the party. 'Minus 5' means that you don't think much of the party at all. You can use the values ​​in between to express your opinion in a graduated manner. What do you think of ...?"
